SAUGERTIES – Police in Saugerties arrested a Saugerties man and charged him with aggravated harassment and stalking after he allegedly made an excessive number of phone calls to a female high school student despite her asking him to leave her alone.
Police said the victim received the majority of the phone calls while she was attending classes between November 1 and 2. As a result, police charged Justin Carageane, 19, with aggravated harassment.
On November 2 after school, he allegedly stalked the girl, located her
at the Tina Chorvas Park in the Village of Saugerties and reportedly physically
prevented her from leaving the park.  Police said the victim was
sitting in her car when she was confronted by Carageane and the two exchanged
words. He was charged with stalking.
Carageane was arraigned and released to reappear in local court at a later date.
