GOSHEN – The Orange County Sheriff’s Office is offering free programs in site security, staff education and public presentations for schools, government offices and local businesses.
The announcement came one day after a gunman shot and killed 26 people and wounded another 20 while they were worshipping at a Sutherland Springs, Texas church.
The Orange County programs are customized to address threats while being adaptable enough to still be useful to a wide variety of locations.
Sheriff Carl DuBois said active shooter events occur at a moment’s notice and the programs offered locally will aid in mitigating the aggressor’s actions to create an outcome that limits the number of victims.
Site assessment will assist staff in recognizing specific vulnerabilities and provide analysis to mitigate threats to those areas, officials said.
Programs in active shoot, Operation Archangel and site security analysis can be scheduled by contacting the sheriff’s office at 845-291-7900 or e-mailing Assistant Undersheriff Anthony Weed at aweed@orangecountygov.com .
