County exec candidate Patrick Davis claimed he has a better vision
for the future of Orange County than incumbent Steven Neuhaus
MIDDLETOWN – Orange County Democrats brought out the big guns on Friday night in the effort to win key races on Tuesday. Congressman Sean Patrick Maloney, State Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli, State Assemblyman James Skoufis and Middletown Mayor Joseph DeStefano all urges Democrats to get out and vote on Tuesday.
All of the speakers at a rally in Middletown said the Democrats have superior candidates in next week’s elections, but it is a matter of getting party members out to vote.
DiNapoli said even more is needed.
“The first thing you have to do is talk to the base; you have to talk to the Democrats in your election districts and in your precincts and in your communities,” DiNapoli said. “That’s a given. But, we can’t just spend our time talking to people who already agree with us. That is too much of what we did in the last cycle, and especially in this county, where just having the Democrats is not going to be enough. Don’t be shy or afraid about reaching out to Republicans. Yes, there are Republicans who can be thoughtful and can be independent minded.”
Democratic county executive candidate Patrick Davis said his platform is based on a vision for the county going forward, something he maintained incumbent Republican Executive Steven Neuhaus has not done.
