Wet street, and homes, in Livingston Manor, last Sunday

MONTICELLO – Last weekend’s heavy rain meant more flooding in Livingston Manor.  That’s nothing new for the small community on the flood-prone Willowemoc Creek, which overflowed again.
Sullivan County Manager Joshua Potosek told the county legislature’s
Public Safety Committee on Thursday all resources are coming together.
That included county legislators and other officials, Assemblywoman Aileen
Gunther, the regional DEC director and her staff, homeland security, and
state police.
There is a plan and a timeline.
“A detailed engineering report out within a year and then going out to bid after that to repair and fix and widen that section of the river,” Potosek said.
The funding formula is being worked out.  Potosek said it likely will be about a two-to-one split with the feds picking up the larger share.
