Rockland County Bar Association rates judicial candidates

NEW CITY – The Judiciary Review and Screening Committee of the Rockland County Bar Association has recommended candidates for judicial office. The ratings followed interviews with the candidates.
In the race for State Supreme Court in the Ninth Judicial District, both Christi Acker and Linda Murray were rated as “qualified.”
In the race for Rockland County Surrogate judge, Keith Cornell and Alden Wolfe were both rated as “qualified,” by Hon. Michael Koplen was rated “not qualified for failure to appear.”
Three candidates for Clarkstown Town justice were screened. Hon. Craig Johns was rated as “well qualified,” Aimee Pollak was rated as “qualified” and Hon. Scott Ugell was rated as “not qualified.”
In the race for Haverstraw Town justice, Ronald Diz and Hon. Ivonne Santos were both rated as “qualified.”
For Orangetown Town justice, Hon. Richard Finning was rated “well qualified.”
In the Town of Stony Point, Hon. Frank Phillips was rated “well qualified” for town justice.
