CHESTER – Developers continue to kick the tires at the Orange County-owned Camp LaGuardia property, but no deals have been firmed up.
County Executive Steven Neuhaus would like to sell much of the property located in Chester and Blooming Grove once the right project has been identified.
“I think we should get it back on the tax rolls. We also have a lot of interesting people that want to develop it, but until we have one that really hits home – we’ve shown it to a lot of people – but, then we will get it done,” he said.
Neuhaus would also like to preserve a portion for agricultural purposes.
Once a project has been identified and firmed up, the county legislature will have the final say in the deal.
