TOWN OF GOSHEN – By a 6-0 vote with one abstention Thursday night, the Town of Goshen Planning Board gave Merlin Entertainments the green light to build the Legoland New York theme park.
The board action means Merlin will receive its site plan and related permits for the $500 million project. The company hopes to start construction before the end of the year and have the children’s park open by 2019.
Local groups opposed to the project have said if approved, they would consider taking the issue to court.
