LAKE PEEKSKILL – The Putnam County Sheriff’s Office has charged a Lake Peekskill woman with endangering the welfare of a child.
On Thursday, October 12, a caller to Putnam 911 reported a two-year-old boy was seen alone and in his bare feet wandering along Lake Drive in Lake Peekskill. A woman who lives in the neighborhood saw the child and stayed with him until deputies arrived.
Sheriff’s investigators and caseworkers from Child Protective Services were dispatched to the scene to assist in the investigation and care of the child.
The mother of the child, Cristina Andrulis, 36, of 110 Lake Drive, told authorities she had been home with the child, put him down for a nap at about 10:30 a.m. and then fell asleep herself. She said when she awoke, she realized he had left the home and she went out looking for him.
Following investigation, authorities determined Andrulis had allegedly acted in a manner that endangered the physical safety of the child. She was issued an appearance ticket returnable to Putnam Valley Justice Court.
