Pine Bush school bus involved in accident

THOMPSON RIDGE – A First Student bus carrying 34 Pine Bush High School students was involved in a minor accident on Thursday, October 5 on Route 302 near Thompson Ridge, school officials said. The accident occurred when the bus, on route #168, scraped a guard rail at about 2:39 p.m.
Several minor injuries were reported by students. The bus returned to Pine Bush High School where school nurses evaluated them. Parents of students on the bus were called to appraise them of the situation.
Once evaluations of students were concluded, seven students re-boarded the bus for their trip home. Most other students were picked up by their parents at Pine Bush High School. Three students were transported by ambulance to Orange Regional Medical Center in the Town of Wallkill for evaluation and two others were taken by their parents for further medical evaluation.
EMS, Pine Bush Fire Department, Assistant Supervisor of Transportation for the Pine Bush School District, Robin Sklar, and a representative for First Student bus company responded to the scene immediately.
