POUGHKEEPSIE – A proposal to prohibit the use of polystyrene foam disposal food service ware in Dutchess County takeout destinations is looking positive.
The Government Services and Administration Committee of the County Legislature unanimously approved the local law Thursday night.
Legislator Joel Tyner, an environmental stalwart, praised the effort.
“I wanted to thank you, recognize, salute and be in appreciation publicly that this is a bipartisan initiative,” Tyner said.
The full county legislature will vote on the ban at its monthly session next Monday.
