POUGHKEEPSIE – A 70-year-old Poughkeepsie man is under arrest and
charged with murder in the shooting death of his girlfriend at the Pleasant
Valley Trout and Game Club in Pleasant Valley on Tuesday afternoon.
The Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office charged Rosario Curcio with
fatally shooting Lana Florio, 56, in the head.
Curcio was remanded to the Dutchess County Jail without bail.
Sources said Curcio tried to take his own life after he killed Florio,
but other men who were there prevented him from harming himself.
Assisting at the scene were the Dutchess County Medical Examiner’s
Office, District Attorney’s Office and State Police.
