LIBERTY – Officials at
Liberty Middle/High School Thursday initiated a hold in place procedure
shortly after 9 a.m. after they were notified that a night custodian had
found an unspent shotgun shell in the boys bathroom near the gym.
The custodian found the shell after the girls volleyball game, which
ended around 8 p.m.
Out of an abundance of caution, Liberty Village Police were notified. The district’s School Resource Officer Devin Brust conducted a search and was accompanied by a State Police K-9 unit.
No other suspicious items were located. The hold in place was lifted at 9:45 a.m. and all normal classes and activities resumed.
