Poughkeepsie man arrested after runaway girl says she was sexually assaulted

POUGHKEEPSIE – City Police
in Poughkeepsie have arrested a local man on charges of rape and prostitution,
both as felonies. Jeremy Davis, 24, was charged after an underage girl
turned herself into Poughkeepsie Police as having run away from a juvenile
facility in Hawthorne three months ago.

The girl told detectives she had been the victim of a sexual assault and
possible sex trafficking.

Davis was arrested after police executed a search warrant at apartment
11E Charles Street Housing.

The investigation into the circumstances surrounding what happened to
the girl over the past three months is continuing. Anyone with information
