Husband accused of attacking wife with knife

LIBERTY – State Police have charged a Liberty man with throwing a large kitchen knife at his wife and stabbing her in the left rear shoulder.
Troopers were called to Catskill Regional Medical Center on Thursday morning for a report of a stabbing victim.
Police said Christine Torres, 29, told investigators she was at her residence when her husband, Carlos Torres, argued with her. He allegedly picked up a large kitchen knife and threw it at her, striking her in the shoulder causing a deep laceration requiring several stitches.
Officers located Torres at their 153 Hysana Road home in the Town of
Liberty and charged him with assault and criminal possession of a weapon.
He was remanded to the Sullivan County Jail in lieu of $5,000 cash bail.
An order of protection was issued to the victim.
