GOSHEN – Retired US Navy SEAL Team Six member Robert O’Neill,
author of “The Operator: Firing the Shots that Killed Osama bin
Laden,” will be the guest speaking at an October 4 fundraiser for
Orange County Executive Steven Neuhaus.
O’Neill, O’Neill retired from the Navy in 2012 as senior chief petty officer, participated in over 400 missions as a SEAL, including the bin Laden raid in Pakistan on May 2, 2011.
Neuhaus said having O’Neill come to Orange County is very meaningful.
“I have a lot of FDNY just came out and endorsed me; we expect some major law enforcement endorsements coming around the corner as they well,” Neuhaus said. “They are front and center coming to the event to shake the hand of guy that pulled the trigger that created all the tragedy in this country.”
Neuhaus is a lieutenant commander in the US Navy Reserves and is assigned to a Naval Special Warfare Group.
O’Neill will participate in a book signing at 5 p.m. followed by a 6
p.m. cocktail hour and a 7 p.m. presentation, at Anthony’s Pier
Nine.
Neuhaus faces a challenge from Democrat Patrick Davis in the November
general election.
