WHITE PLAINS – The man accused of murdering a millionaire and his health aide two decades ago in Westchester County, was acquitted of the crime.  The verdict absolving Selwyn Days came on the second day of jury deliberations in his fifth trial.
Days had been in jail since his arrest in 2001, five years after Archie Harris, 79, and Betty Ramcharan, 35, were found dead in Harris’ Eastchester home.
Trials one and three ended with hung juries.  He was convicted in the second and fourth trial but both verdicts were overturned.
“Though we are disappointed in today’s verdict, we respect the decision of the jury in this case,” said Westchester County District Attorney Anthony Scarpino, Jr., in a statement released late Tuesday.
