Wallkill man charged with felony cruelty to animals

TOWN OF WALLKILL – A Town of Wallkill man was arrested by the Hudson Valley SPCA Humane Law Enforcement Division on a charge of felony aggravated cruelty to animals. Investigators from the Law Enforcement Division along with Wallkill Town Police seized a badly beaten 10-year-old male corgi.
SPCA officials allege the dog was beaten by James Scott, 52, with a stick repeatedly in a depraved, sadistic manner causing injuries and extreme physical pain.  The dog suffered bilateral blunt force trauma, hind leg lameness and a retinal hemorrhage to his right eye.
The dog was brought to the Hudson Valley SPCA where he received emergency care.
