Brooklyn woman arrested for burglarizing Monticello motel room

MONTICELLO – A Brooklyn woman was arrested on Sunday, September
3 on a felony burglary charge for allegedly stealing items from a guest
room at the Inn at Monticello.

Village Police alleged that Debra Forcenito, 53, entered a room at the
motel at 392 Broadway at 11:30 p.m. on Friday, September 1 and stole a
TV, lamp, pillows and towels with an approximate total value of $441.
Video surveillance from the premise captured Forcenito entering the room,
taking the items and then driving away in a 2008 Dodge Caliber.

She was arrested on Sunday afternoon, September 3 when an officer on patrol
recognized the vehicle as the same one on the surveillance video.. She
was stopped and arrested and officers were able to recover some of the
stolen property.

Following arraignment, Forcenito was remanded to the Sullivan County Jail
in lieu of $50,000 bail.
