WASHINGTON – When Congress returns to Washington next week, talk of tax relief and healthcare change will take a back seat to providing aid to the victims of Texas and Louisiana, who have been slammed by Hurricane Harvey.
Congressman John Faso (R, NY-19) said he is fully committed to doing whatever is necessary to support the victims of that massive storm.
“This is a relatively unprecedented level of flooding,” Faso said. “The area that it affected is roughly the size of New Jersey, so it is an enormously large, geographically dispersed area and there is a lot of human suffering going on.  We hope and pray that conditions will improve quickly, but it is important for government and volunteer organizations to provide needed resources to help people get back on their feet.”
Full restoration of the Houston area could take years to complete.
