POUGHKEEPSIE – Funeral arrangements are still pending for Information Systems Technician 2nd Class Corey Ingram, one of ten sailors killed about his destroyer in Southeast Asia over the weekend.
City officials are reaching out to the city.
Mayor Robert Rolison reported at last night’s common council meeting that they are coordinating with the U.S. Navy, and with Ingram’s family.
“He has a wonderful family.  His mother and father, mother works for the county, his dad is a master sergeant at Stewart, who understands the dangers of the armed services, whether it’s combat, routine patrol, and they are an example of what that neighborhood is all about, what this city is all about.”:
Rolison said when word was received that Ingram’s body had been recovered, city crews, including DPW personnel, moved quickly to lower flags to half-staff, and post a tribute to Corey Ingram on a board at the main firehouse.
