Police are seeking the public’s
help in catching White’s killer

MIDDLETOWN – Police have followed up on over 100 leads as they
continue to investigate the shooting death of Coree White Jr., 19, of
Middletown on Thursday, August 17.

Investigators have been hampered, though, by a lack of cooperation from
several witnesses and other potentially involved people, who have refused
to speak with detectives or have provided false or misleading information
about the incident.

Police said additional information is needed to identify suspects and
make arrests. City police are working with White’s family to develop
additional leads and suspects.
Authorities are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying
additional individuals who may have witnessed the incident or saw anything
suspicious in the area of 17 Wallkill Avenue on the evening of August
17.

Residents with private surveillance cameras are encouraged to contact
the police department if they feel that there might be pertinent information
that was captured by their video systems.

All calls and tips will be kept confidential.
Individuals may contact the police department by phone, internet, or
social media.
