New Paltz man arrested with loaded gun, drugs

PLATTEKILL – A traffic stop on South Ohioville Road in the Town of Plattekill resulted in the arrest of a 25-year-old New Paltz man.
Officers from the Plattekill Police Department stopped Matthew Bruno just before 7 p.m. on Thursday, August 17 for driving a vehicle with non-transparent windows.
Members of the Ulster Regional Gang Enforcement Narcotics Team were called in to assist with a K-9 unit. Investigators found four ounces of marijuana, nine grams of marijuana wax, $925 in cash and a loaded .22 caliber pistol in the car.
Bruno was charged with felony criminal possession of a weapon and misdemeanors of criminal possession of a controlled substance and criminal possession of marijuana. He was also charged with the traffic violation of non-transparent windows. He was to the Ulster County Jail in lieu of $25,000 cash bail or $100,000 bond.
