MIDDLETOWN – The victim of the shooting at 17 Wallkill Avenue in
Middletown was a 19-year-old man, city police said Friday.
The shooting occurred around 11 p.m. Thursday when police were called
to the scene and learned that the victim had been transported to Orange
Regional Medical Center in the Town of Wallkill by a private vehicle.
State Police met that car at the emergency room where the victim was treated,
but later pronounce dead.
His name has been withheld pending notification of relatives.
The case is being investigated by Middletown Police with assistance from
the State Police Major Crimes Unit and the Orange County District Attorney’s
Office.
