Off-duty corrections officer arrested for DWI

KERHONKSON – An off-duty
Ulster County corrections officer has been arrested and charged with the
misdemeanors of driving while intoxicated, driving with a blood alcohol
content in excess of .18 percent and a vehicle and violation.

The Ulster County Sheriff’s Office reported that Eric Decker, 37,
of Kerhonkson was stopped after deputies observed him failing to use his
turn signal on Samsonville Road in the Town of Rochester. Police were
alerted to an erratic vehicle driving on the road around 7 p.m. on August
11 and that prompted them to respond to the location.

Further investigation revealed Decker was driving in an intoxicated condition.

He was released with an appearance ticket returnable to Rochester Town
Court.
