WASHINGTON – Congressman
Sean Patrick Maloney (D, NY-18) said he is “disgusted and saddened
by the ugly, hateful and violent events” in Charlottesville, Virginia.

White nationalists and anti-protestors classed on Saturday with one man
ramming his car into a crowd of anti-protestors killing one person and
injuring 19 others.

“As someone who was blessed to spend years living and learning in
Charlottesville – one of America’s most beautiful and welcoming
communities, with a history of enlightenment stretching back to Jefferson
– I’m disgusted and saddened by the ugly, hateful and violent
events taking place there,” Maloney said. “All decent people
should demand a return to sanity and a restoration of decency and respect
for others.”

In light of the violence, a state of emergency has been declared in the
state of Virginia.
