WHITE PLAINS – The Westchester
County grand jury has indicted a New Rochelle man on a murder charge in
connection with the death of his daughter.

Neil White, 47, was charged with killing Gabrielle White, 7, on June 6,
2017.

According to the indictment, at 3:05 p.m. on April 6, 2017, the nanny
who helped to care for the child came to their home at 3 Arbor Glen where
both White and his daughter lived. She went to the third floor of the
home and called out to both of them. White, who was bleeding from both
wrists from self-inflicted knife cuts, left the master bedroom. The nanny
became frightened and fled the house and called the child’s mother
and police.

New Rochelle officers arrived and found White in the master bedroom and
Gabrielle in her bedroom, under her blanket and in a state of rigor.
White was later taken to the hospital where his wounds were addressed.

The medical examiner’s office determined the Gabrielle was smothered
to death.

If convicted, White could face 25 years to life in prison.
