HAVERSTRAW – Work is underway to repair and replace a damaged retaining wall on Route 9W in the Town of Haverstraw.
The state Department of Transportation is footing the $3.3 million bill.
Preliminary work began in the spring with the bulk of the work taking place while school is out. The entire project is expected to be completed by the end of November.
Traffic is being maintained on Route 9W with lane shifts during daytime hours and alternating one-way traffic controlled by a temporary traffic signal during the overnight hours from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.
