MILTON – Ulster County 911 received a call from a local resident reporting an unconscious female on the side of the road in the Milton area of the Town of Marlboro.  It was further reported the female was partially clothed and her hands and feet were bound with duct tape.
Sheriff’s deputies, Town of Marlborough Police and State Police responded. Marlborough police located the woman unconscious on the shoulder of the roadway with duct tape across her mouth, hands and feet.  She was identified as Amber Malagoli, 22, of New Windsor.
Malagoli was transported to Mid-Hudson Regional Hospital where she regained consciousness and reported to detectives she had been kidnapped and raped.  She suffered no injuries from the alleged attack and claimed she had no memory of incident.  State Police located Malagoli’s vehicle in the Bridgeview Plaza in Highland and examined it.
Detectives ultimately confirmed Malagoli staged the kidnapping and rape.
Malagoli was charged with criminal contempt and perjury, both felonies.  She was sent to the Ulster County Jail without bail, to return on a later date for additional proceedings.
