WHITE PLAINS – A woman who pled guilty to five felony counts and three misdemeanors in a crash that killed two people will spend up to 12 years in prison.
Michelle Bonet, 34, of White Plains, was sentenced to a minimum of four and a maximum of twelve years in state prison after having pled guilty to three counts of Aggravated Vehicular Homicide, and two counts of Manslaughter in the Second Degree, all felonies.  She also pled to single misdemeanor counts of aggravated driving while intoxicated, driving while intoxicated and driving while ability impaired.
On October 28, 2016 Bonet was driving on West Hartsdale Road in Greenburgh. Her minivan was observed by witnesses crossing over the double yellow line multiple times and narrowly missed one car.  A few moments later, while driving over the speed limit, she crossed center line on West Hartsdale Avenue and collided head-on with a sedan driven by Carmelo Sbezzi, 84. His wife, Henrietta, 82, was a front seat passenger.  Both died.
Two separate blood samples were drawn from the defendant at the hospital at different times. Testing revealed a BAC of .29 and .25 respectively, both more than three times the legal limit. The testing also revealed an amount of Diazepam also referred to as Valium.
