Hein: “… much work
left do do”
KINGSTON – Ulster County Executive Michael Hein announced on Thursday that he will stay where he is, and not run for the U.S. House of Representatives.
“Major challenges still remain and there is much work left to do,” Hein said in a statement announcing his decision to continue his work in Ulster County.
The Democrat county exec had been considering a run next year in the 19th district, currently represented by Republican John Faso.
“This decision has truly been one of the most difficult of my professional life and one that I have not taken lightly,” Hein said. “As the Ulster County Executive, I take great pride in the creative and positive reforms that we have been able to deliver to help our Veterans, seniors, students, families and, especially, those among us most in need. I have had the privilege to work with a dedicated team who I believe are some of the finest individuals anywhere.
