Police vehicles cornered the suspect’s car in the hospital parking
lot

A Police chase that law enforcement sources said began with an argument
between a construction worker and a Monticello Wal-Mart security guard
led to the worker swinging a trowel at the guard, striking him on the
arm causing a superficial injury; it ended in the parking lot of Catskill
Regional Medical Center in Harris.

A Sullivan County Sheriff’s deputy happened to be right there and
began to chase the suspect.

When he was cornered at the hospital, he told officers that he didn’t
feel well and was brought into the hospital to be checked out.

The suspect’s vehicle caused minor damage to a deputy’s patrol
car and more extensive damage to a state Environmental Conservation officer’s
pickup truck.

The pursuit involved Sullivan County Sheriff’s deputies, State Police
and State Environmental Conservation Police.
