WASHINGTON – The White Sulphur Springs Fire Department has been awarded a more than $155,400 federal grant to purchase 19 new air packs for Scott packs. The department has not replaced them since 2004.
“Due to the funding, we will have additional resources to keep our community and firefighters safe,” said Brad Paddock, chairman of the Board of Fire Commissioners.
The funds come from the Department of Homeland Security’s Assistance to Firefighters Grant program and were announced by Senators Charles Schumer and Kirsten Gillibrand.
