Highway shooting suspect arrested

HARRISON – The man believed to have shot a motorist while driving on Interstate 95 between exit 18B and 19 in Harrison on Tuesday, July 18 has been arrested.
State Police charged Jamil Fields, 55, of the Bronx with attempted murder and assault, both as felonies.  He was sent to the Westchester County Jail without bail.
Police responded to the scene of a collision around 5:49 p.m. and found Mouhamed Cisse, 24, of the Bronx, who had serious injuries including gunshot wounds.
During the investigation, State Police investigators developed Fields as a suspect and on Saturday, July 22, he was spotted driving a U-Haul van on Nereid Avenue in Harrison. Police followed it and took him into custody on Richardson Avenue.
Police did not reveal a possible motive for the shooting. The incident remains under investigation.
