MONTICELLO – A Monticello man was arrested on Saturday following investigations into two separate commercial burglaries in the Village of Monticello.
Jasper Stringfellow, 33, was charged with two counts each of burglary and grand larceny and one misdemeanor count of criminal possession of burglar’s tools. He was sent to the Sullivan County Jail in lieu of $50,000 cash.
On Tuesday, July 11 at 2 a.m., Stringfellow allegedly broke into the Veo Mobil convenience store on Forestburg Road and stole $1,250 in cash. On Friday, July 21 at 1:16 a.m., Stringfellow allegedly broke into the Beer World store on Pleasant Street and stole $1,399 in state lottery scratch-off tickets.
