MONTICELLO – A Monticello man was arrested on Friday on felony charges of assault and criminal trespass and a misdemeanor of criminal possession of a weapon.
Seth Hodge, 31, was picked up following a complaint from a 50-year-old man that Hodge had struck him several times with a stick and also tried to cut him with a knife while at 7 High Street in the Village of Monticello, where they both lived.
At 6 a.m., the victim was sitting on the front porch of the building when Hodge, who the victim did not know, approached and began striking him on the head and body with a stick. The victim retreated into his own apartment, but Hodge followed him inside and attempted to stab him with a knife. The victim required medical attention for lacerations to his head and chest.
Hodge was sent to the Sullivan County Jail in lieu of $25,000 cash bail or $50,000 bond.
