PEEKSKILL – A Peekskill man arrested on a charge that he exposed himself to a 15-year-old girl on Highland Avenue on July 5.
Michael Smith, 37, was arrested on Tuesday, July 18 following an investigation.
The victim told police she was approached by a man in a white vehicle who asked her if she wanted a ride. When he approached, she observed him exposing his genitals. The girl immediately fled and contacted police.
A detective located video evidence of the suspect’s car just after the crime was committed and broadcast the information to all police patrols. Another officer spotted the vehicle the following day.
Smith was identified as a suspect. He was later arrested and charged with endangering the welfare of a child and public lewdness.
