Middletown native to head New York City non-profit

NEW YORK – Middletown native Roy Paul has been named executive
director of Cents Ability, Inc., a New York City-based non-profit dedicated
to educating and empowering teens to achieve their goals through the prudent
and informed management of their financial resources.
Alexa DuPont, co-founder and chairwoman of the board of directors, called Paul “an accomplished leader, well respected among his peers and has experience and dedication to successfully take the helm of our organization.”
At age 19, Paul was the youngest African-American elected to office in New York, serving on the Middletown School Board for five years. He also worked as head of outreach and legislative affairs for the Jamel Robinson Child Welfare Institute, a non-profit that focuses on the challenges teenagers face in the foster care system.”
Paul earned his undergraduate degree from Queens College, his masters from New School University and is the recipient of an honorary doctorate degree in Humanities.
