I-95 shooting remains under investigation

Police are still
looking for the
white van

MAMARONECK – State Police continue to investigate an incident on Interstate 95 north in Mamaroneck on July 18 in which a Bronx man, Mouhamed Cisse, 24, sustained serious injuries including gunshot wounds. He remains hospitalized in critical condition.
Troopers were initially called to a reported vehicle collision between exits 18B and 19. A preliminary investigation indicates that a GMC U-Haul van bearing Arizona license plates and possible front end damage was noted swerving in the roadway.
The van struck a car that was northbound on the highway. The van became temporarily disabled on the grassy shoulder of the road before reentering the roadway. The unidentified driver stopped momentarily and an eyewitness took a picture of the van.
The van has not been located so far and it is unknown how many occupants were inside.
The incident is being investigated by State Police from Troop K and Troop T.
