TOWN OF OLIVE – The Dividing Weir Bridge is open with two lanes for the first time since 2015. The structure carries Reservoir Road over Ashokan Reservoir in the Town of Olive. It had been limited to one lane of traffic while work crews rehabilitated its concrete support arches.
A 16-ton weight limit will continue at the bridge.
Engineers found more damaged concrete than what they thought was damaged from a century of freezing and thawing, resulting in five times the amount of concrete than first anticipated.
The repair cost about $5 million.
