TOWN OF SOUTHEAST – A
passenger in a vehicle that was struck from behind on Interstate 84 near
exit 20 in Southeast has died from his injuries, State Police said Wednesday.

David Patton, 65, of Danbury, Connecticut died after being transported
to Westchester Medical Center following the Monday afternoon crash.

Three other people in that vehicle, including the driver, were injured.

Police said that around 12:42 p.m. a car driven by Nancy Scott, 64, of
Carmel, was traveling westbound on I-84 when she failed to observe the
vehicles in front of her were slowing down for traffic. She struck the
rear of the car in which Patton was a passenger. That vehicle struck another
resulting in the chain reaction crash of the five vehicles.
