KINGSTON – Ulster County Executive Michael Hein named Thomas Jackson as the county’s public works commissioner. He currently serves as director of the Ulster County Real Property Tax Service Agency.
Previously Jackson served as director of the county Public Transit, where
he managed and tracked federal and state aid for the county’s public
transportation system, UCAT.  He was Marbletown town supervisor from
1994 through 2003.
The county’s DPW maintains over 423 miles of county roads and 158 bridges and is responsible for the operation and upkeep of all county buildings.
Jackson’s appointment is subject to confirmation by the county legislature, which meets in monthly session tonight.
