Ellenville woman accused of tampering with a witness

ELLENVILLE – The Ulster County Sheriff’s Office arrested an Ellenville woman on charges of felony witness tampering and misdemeanors of assault and endangering the welfare of a child.
Authorities said that around 7:45 p.m. on July 13, Jenah Hammel, 18, met with a victim and drove to Cox Road in Cragsmoor where a physical altercation occurred between the two.
The victim was then driven back to her residence and threatened by Hammel with harm to her family and herself if she called the police.
The victim also sought medical attention at Ellenville Regional Hospital for injuries received during the altercation.
Hammel was sent to the Orange County Jail in lieu of $500 cash bail or $1,000 bond.
