MONTICELLO – The Sullivan County Human Rights Commission is partnering with local and state police and community leaders with a goal of strengthening police-community relations.
The human rights commission and police are joining forces at three major summer events in the county, beginning with Liberty’s July 4 Festival at Lapolt Park. That will be followed by Fallsburg’ National Night Out on August 1 and Monticello’s Bagel Fest on August 13.
Activities at each event will include “The Convincer,” a texting and driving simulator from the State Police, Monticello’s K-9 unit and a dunking booth provided by Party Master.
Partners in the events include Catholic Charities, Fallsburg Police, Latino Alliance, Liberty and Monticello Village Police, NAACP, State Police, Sullivan County District Attorney and Sheriff’s Offices, legal aid, and the united Methodist Church of Monticello.
