Three arrested in latest Newburgh murder

NEWBURGH – Police arrested three men on Wednesday following the murder
of a 63-year-old man in the City of Newburgh in what a law enforcement
source told Mid-Hudson News was a drug-related killing.

At around 12:35 p.m., police were called to the basement apartment of
168 Chambers Street where they found Raul Diaz-Martinez, who had been
shot once in the head. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The investigation led to the arrests of the three suspects, all charged
with murder. All Newburgh city residents, they were identified as Dejiore
Fox, 21, Tyrees Canigan, 16, and Omarrio Morrison, 25.

The investigation is continuing and anyone with information is asked to
call Newburgh City Police at 845-561-3131.

The investigation is being handled by city police, the State Police Major
Crimes unit and Orange County District Attorney’s Office.
