POUGHKEEPSIE – The flap, last week, over alleged ethnically insensitive comments in the Democratic caucus by often outspoken legislator Joel Tyner, got only very brief attention during the monthly Dutchess County Legislature meeting Monday night.
Rather than do it via standard resolution, Republican James Miccio offered a unanimous consent motion to censure Tyner. One objection was all that was needed to defeat a unanimous consent, and that came from Tyner.
That took about five seconds.
A censure resolution will appear as a standard agenda item at the July meeting.
