STEWART AIRPORT – The first
scheduled overseas service from Stewart International Airport in 25 years
begins on Thursday with direct flights from Newburgh to Edinburgh, Scotland.
Norwegian Air will also fly to Ireland, Northern Ireland and Norway beginning next month.
Stewart Manager Ed Harrison said Norwegian may not stop with those five
destinations.
“They are delighted with the pre-purchase numbers and they are looking at other destinations and warm weather destinations,” Harrison said. “Get your bathing suit ready.”
Norwegian has seen some 60 percent pre-flight bookings on their announced service at Stewart.
