Screwdriver robber holds up department store

TOWN OF WALLKILL – Police
are looking for a man who held up a clerk at the J.C. Penney department
store in the Town of Wallkill while brandishing a screwdriver.

Police Chief Robert Hertman said the perpetrator ordered the female employee
to give him cash from her register and she handed over an undetermined
amount before she fainted.

The robber, described as a white man in his late 30s or early 40s.

No injuries were reported.
