MAMARONECK – State Police
are investigating a fatal hit-and-run accident on Interstate 95 at exit
18B – Mamaroneck Avenue – at 12:42 a.m. on Monday, June 5.
Troopers said Maicol Encarnacion Garcia, 20, of Richmond Hill, was outside
his Volkswagen changing a tire when he was struck by a tractor-trailer
that left the scene. The tractor-trailer was towing two trailers.
Anyone who witnessed the collision is asked to call the Bureau of Criminal
Investigation in Hawthorne at 914-769-2600. All calls will be kept confidential.
