PEEKSKILL – A sex offender is charged with two felonies following an investigation into his reported residence to Peekskill City Police.
Detectives charged with monitoring registered sex offenders who live in the city, were notified by Town of Poughkeepsie Police on May 9 that Andrew Zambrano, 29, moved to an address in Dunbar Heights in Peekskill. When a detective attempted to verify Zambrano’s reported address, he was unable to do so and learned he had never lived there.
A three-week investigation determined that Zambrano was living at 426 Main Street in Peekskill, over a mile away from the Dunbar Heights area.
Zambrano was taken into custody on Monday, May 26 and charged with failing to report his change of address and for violating the terms of his status as a sex offender, both as felonies.  He was released following his appearance in Peekskill City Court on May 27.
Zambrano is classified as a level two sex offender based on his April 2016 conviction for sexual abuse in the Town of Poughkeepsie.
