Davis: “… give everyone a
seat at the table”

BLOOMING GROVE – Patrick Davis, a Monroe resident and USMA graduate, will challenge Republican Orange County Executive Steven Neuhaus this fall.
Davis, 35, a Democrat, announced his candidacy before a group of supporters in Blooming Grove and via a live Facebook stream.  The county Democratic committee will formally endorse him tonight at its annual nominating convention.
Davis, who said Neuhaus is “soft” on Kiryas Joel, wants to talk to people on both sides of the annexation issue before he formulates his own position.
“What is important to me in that situation is that we give everyone a seat at the table. What I am tired of seeing is the divisiveness and seemingly the lack of ability on either side for each to treat each other with dignity, and I want to re-introduce that to the process,” he said. “I still want to talk to all of the interested parties and come up with a more solid position on that as we go.”
Davis is also concerned about the state of healthcare and the opioid problem.
Davis, an army vet, served two tours in Iraq. While at West Point, he met his future wife, Alexis, also a graduate of the academy. They married later and moved to Monroe in 2010; he is a native of Albany. They have two small sons, 2 ½ and one year old.
He is a financial services advisor at Price Waterhouse Coopers in New York City.
